Chapman, Hazel -  Funeral at St Mary’s Church, Steeple Bumpstead 2.30p.m Tuesday 2nd February 2016

We are sad to inform parishioners that Hazel passed away after an illness on Sunday 17th January 2016. Beloved wife of Nigel, Hazel was an active member of our village community.  She worked tirelessly in her many voluntary roles within Steeple Bumpstead. Having been Clerk to the Parish Council for six years she was then elected as a Parish Councillor. She served as Chair for 8 years.  She was a school governor, Parish Council Representative of the George Gent Charity, Chair of SB Friends of Cancer Research and Steeple Bumpstead Parochial Charities. A founding member and the former Editor of The Yellow  Book, she was also village librarian for many years. Hazel had many accomplishments to her name but sought no recognition and the village is indebted to her for all her hard work over the years. She will be sorely missed.
